RUSNAM is an artist of French-Tunisian label Shouka and member of the BIPoC collective Decolonoize and has been active in the local & international music scene for over twelve years. After fronting the touring band Gülina, RUSNAM has built an extensive body of interdisciplinary work in collaboration with renowned artists including dancer & lecturer Nora Amin, producer DJ Ipek, jazz singer - composer Sera Kalo, visual artist & ancestral healer Anguezomo Nzé Mba Bikoro, opera singer Anthony Hüseyin and the Babylon Orchestra.
Her performances span international festivals and venues including CTM Festival, Most Wanted Music: Listen to Berlin Awards, Malta Festival (Poznań, PL), Alliance Française (Accra, Ghana), Variations Festival (Nantes, FR) and Fusion Festival.
RUSNAM’s compositions and productions have shaped projects at the Turkish Music Conservatory Berlin, Babylon Orchestra, Atze Music Theatre, Allothroe Athens and Neuköllner Oper.
Her music fuses recorded and sampled sounds from West Asia and North Africa, layered vocals with experimental, bass-driven structures and post-industrial elements rooted in feminist and decolonial practices.
Her solo debut EP Weltschmerz (2021) marked a significant milestone in her artistic development as a producer.
As a cultural worker and educator, RUSNAM has over a decade of experience facilitating music empowerment workshops with refugee and migrant children & youth - in emergency shelters and refugee camps (Landesjugendring e.V.), youth clubs (Girls Club Alia, Kreuzberg), schools (Ernst Abbe Schule, Neukölln) and community spaces across Berlin and Brandenburg. Her workshop practice encompasses music & beat production, songwriting, rap, vocal coaching, live performance and creative writing, funded by institutions including the Bundesministerium für Bildung & Forschung and Paritätisches Bildungswerk - Kultur macht stark.
Through her immersive audiovisual performance #ctrl.xx.tension and interactive music exhibition #de:code, she explores and transforms experiences of discrimination, trauma and exclusion of marginalized womxn artists, centering collective improvisation and healing. Her sound productions for the 3D audiobook La Nuit sacrée (Tahar Ben Jelloun) - #TransCULT with Babylon Orchestra - at MONOM 4D Sound Studios further reflects her commitment to pushing the boundaries of sound and storytelling.
With Decolonoize, RUSNAM organizes interdisciplinary events and educational workshops that amplify marginalized voices. They have been awarded the Tag der Clubkultur Prize (2024) and the APPLAUS Award (2025) for outstanding concert programming and cultural work.
Her current project #ANCXSTRAL FREQUENCIES, funded by Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und Europa (Impact 2026), is a research and experimental performance project exploring sonic histories of the Global South - weaving together ancestral knowledge, sound research and live performance across borders.
RUSNAM also runs #deep dive Studios Berlin, her recording and production space dedicated to collective creation.
